I took it home and tried to see if I could hook it up into a USB powered drive bay and run some drive repair software and I failed miserably. On a whim I plugged it into my comp but not as the boot drive. It worked just fine and I was able to recover all of the data from it. Does this mean that the boot record was corrupted in the drive and I could have run a boot repair type program to fix it? Is this a common thing to happen? I am just beginning to explore the vast world of computer repair. If anyone that wants to help needs anymore specifics please ask in the comments and I will try and get to you in a timely...
